Reggaeton originated in the ‘underground’ of Puerto Rico in the 90’s.
The artists of this style of music were influenced at the time by Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop and traditional Puerto Rican music. You can recognize Reggaeton by a swinging and compelling rhythm called Dem Bow. The raps are mainly in Spanish and are mainly about crime, sex and love. It is therefore also called the gangsta rap of the Caribbean.
Through world hits such as “Rakata” by Wisin & Yandel and “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee, Reggaeton has also become a rage in Europe and Reggaeton is one of the most famous Latin music and dance styles of the moment.
During this challenging workshop we use different styles of Reggaeton music, from classics to current hits. You will learn more about the Reggaeton Fundamentals and how to dance Reggaeton from step 1.
