merengue workshop

Merengue is a music and dance style that, like the Bachata, comes from the Dominican Republic, but it is still unknown how the Merengue originated. The pace in the Merengue is higher than that of the Salsa, but is experienced as one of the simplest Latin dance styles in the Netherlands.

Because of the fast pace, compelling rhythm and simple basic steps, this Latin style is suitable for everyone and Merengue dancing is a true party. Examples of the most famous Merengue songs in the Netherlands are “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo and “A pedir su mano” by Juan Luis Guerra.

This workshop is 90 minutes of PURE FUN and easy accessible. Very suitable for a group with no or very little dance experience and an easy way to enter the Latin dance world. Ideal to do as a couple because of the cheerful melody and energy. The basic pass is very simple and that is why it is very nice to work with it in different ways.
